Sunwoda unveils ultra-fast charging LFP battery promising 100 km per minute range
Chinese battery maker Sunwoda showcased a new lithium-iron-phosphate cell that can add roughly 100 km of driving range each minute of charging and reaches full charge in about nine minutes at room temperature.
Sunwoda, a Chinese battery manufacturer, introduced an LFP battery capable of adding approximately 100 km of range for each minute of charging. The cell can be brought from a low charge level to near-full capacity in about nine minutes at room temperature, thanks to a heat-management system that avoids severe temperature spikes. In sub-zero conditions, specifically -20 °C, the battery can achieve a full charge in fifteen minutes, sufficient for a 700-km driving range.
The company asserts that the battery complies with its ten-year or 300,000-km warranty and imposes no restrictions on the number of fast-charging sessions within that timeframe. Sunwoda already supplies batteries to automakers such as Geely, Dongfeng and GAC, which could accelerate adoption of the technology.
