Supriya Sule says she will no longer comment on Ajit Pawar's fatal crash

Supriya Sule, a member of parliament from the NCP (SP), told reporters in Nagpur that she will cease commenting on the Jan 28 accident near Baramati airport that resulted in the death of her cousin, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, because continued debate is creating misunderstandings. She offered no further details and refused to answer more questions. In the same statement, Sule appealed to the state government to apply the Supreme Court’s order limiting DJ noise after 10 p.m. consistently throughout Maharashtra, instead of banning them in some cities while ignoring others.

She highlighted the need for a balanced approach during major festivals such as Ganeshotsav, Navratri and Diwali, emphasizing that the issue lies with implementation, not with dancing or music itself. Sule cited Nagpur police’s claim of adhering to noise limits as an example of possible compliance. The remarks reflect ongoing political sensitivity surrounding both the crash investigation and public-order regulations.
