Suspect in Vâlcea murder allegedly hid body in suitcase before dumping it in Olt River
Police say Vlad Bălţățeanu, the main suspect, placed his 28-year-old girlfriend’s corpse in a suitcase and threw it into the Olt River after a party at his home.
Authorities have traced the route of Vlad Bălţățeanu, identified as the principal suspect in the Vâlcea homicide, after the victim, 28-year-old Valentina Ioana Tănăsie, was found dead in a suitcase in the Olt River. The forensic report indicates she died from severe head trauma and multiple injuries the day before her body was recovered. According to police, Bălţățeanu placed the unclothed corpse in the suitcase, drove to the Ionești dam and dumped it, then proceeded to Sibiu before attempting to flee to Hungary with a friend’s assistance.
His mother, who lives in the same courtyard, told investigators she was unaware of the crime due to loud music at a party. The suspect, aged 30, is now wanted for murder, and a criminal case has been opened against him.
