Suspension of five election officers follows discovery of 3,400 voter-revision forms in Navi Mumbai shop

Authorities uncovered 3,400 Special Intensive Revision voter-roll forms at a private photocopy shop in Sector 19, Kharghar, after complaints that the documents were being copied without authorization. Police took Suraj Patil, accused of being linked to the BJP youth wing, into custody and confiscated the forms, which spanned eleven polling stations. In response, five Booth Level Officers were suspended pending disciplinary action, and Raigad district collector Kishan Jawale registered a case under the Representation of the People Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The discovery triggered a confrontation between Shiv Sena (UBT) supporters and BJP workers, with Shiv Sena alleging party involvement and BJP denying any connection. Opposition MLA Rohit Pawar criticised the limited response and called for broader accountability, while the Election Commission was asked to comment.
