Suzlon to spend ₹550 crore on three AI-driven wind blade factories by 2027
Suzlon will invest ₹550 crore to build three AI-enabled wind-blade factories in Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, targeting completion by 2027.
Suzlon announced a ₹550 crore capital outlay to erect three AI-powered wind-blade manufacturing plants, with two slated for Gujarat and Karnataka and a third in Tamil Nadu. Funded from internal accruals, the projects will raise the company's factory count to 18, establishing the largest smart wind-manufacturing capacity in India. The facilities will sit close to wind-farm sites, improving logistics and supporting an order book of roughly 6 GW as of March 2026.
AI-enabled vision systems and digital quality tools such as AskCQMS and the SAFER safety app will enhance defect detection, safety and traceability. The expansion is expected to generate around 3,000 direct and 12,000 indirect jobs, with an emphasis on rural employment. Suzlon aims to meet growing domestic demand for indigenised wind equipment and align with government Made-in-India initiatives, with the factories targeted for operation by 2027.
Why it matters
The investment expands India's domestic wind-energy manufacturing, creates thousands of jobs, and boosts clean-energy capacity.
