Swedish agencies shut down sites after critical PHP flaws are disclosed
Several Swedish operators have taken web services offline as a precaution following the revelation of two serious PHP vulnerabilities, said FRA communications chief Ola Billger.
Following the public disclosure of two high-severity PHP vulnerabilities on Wednesday, multiple Swedish entities have preemptively taken down websites and web-based applications. FRA communications chief Ola Billger said the agency has been monitoring the situation closely and responding to numerous inquiries. The National Cybersecurity Center, which operates under FRA, has called on organisations to promptly apply the released security updates.
Although the full impact of the flaws is still uncertain, officials have not yet detected any major attacks on Swedish sites. They warn that exploitation is likely and advise continuous monitoring for signs of compromise. Billger added that Swedish organisations appear to be complying with the guidance and remain vigilant.
Why it matters
Unpatched PHP flaws could let attackers run malicious code on many Swedish online services, risking data breaches and service disruptions.
