Swedish border police spot pattern of Russian ferry passengers carrying drones

Recent observations by Sweden's border and sea police reveal a consistent pattern among passengers arriving by ferry from the former Soviet Union. These travelers, frequently possessing dual citizenship with a Russian passport, tell officials they are relatives planning a fishing holiday in Scandinavia, yet they lack any fishing gear. Instead, they are equipped with several mobile devices, payment cards, cash, and in many cases drones and other surveillance equipment, along with new accessories such as backpacks, watches and electric toothbrushes.
The police cannot provide further specifics about the method but have circulated an alert to units to remain vigilant for such travelers. They also note that the individuals are unable to present travel itineraries or accommodation bookings. The police emphasize ongoing cooperation with multiple agencies while withholding detailed operational information.
