Swedish defender Hanna Glas signs with Kansas City Current after Bayern stint

Full-back Hanna Glas leaves FC Bayern Women to join NWSL side Kansas City Current, continuing her knee-injury rehab in the United States.

Hanna Glas, a 29-year-old Swedish full-back, has departed FC Bayern Women after joining the club from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2020. During her tenure she made exactly 50 appearances, won the 2020/21 Bundesliga title and scored a UEFA Champions League Goal of the Season. Bayern’s sporting director Bianca Rech highlighted Glas’s importance to the defence and thanked her for her contributions.

Glas announced her transfer to the NWSL’s Kansas City Current, where she will initially focus on completing rehabilitation from a serious knee injury suffered last summer. In her farewell message, she expressed deep affection for Munich and the club, recalling the championship season and a historic match at the Allianz Arena against PSG. The move fulfills her desire to play on a different continent.
