Swedish red-green parties reach consensus on draft law halting deportations of young adults

The Social Democrats, Left, Centre and Green parties have agreed on the wording of a stop-deportation law for young adults.

After a meeting of the Riksdag's Social Insurance Committee, the four red-green parties confirmed they share a common draft for a law that would pause expulsions of young adults with residence permits based on family ties. Details of the exact thresholds remain undisclosed. The Migration Agency previously suspended removals for a similar group during the last term, but it is unclear if it will repeat the pause under the new proposal.
