Swedish speaker Andreas Norlén meets party leaders ahead of parliamentary vote

Andreas Norlén, Sweden's parliamentary speaker, began a series of one-on-one meetings with party leaders, starting with the Social Democrats and moving through the Sweden Democrats to the Liberals. Each leader receives roughly a half-hour to discuss their positions ahead of the speaker election slated for the first week of the new Riksdag. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will not attend, having flown to Riga to see his daughter and then continue to Arlanda.

The schedule lists Magdalena Andersson at 10:00, the Sweden Democrats at 10:35, followed by the Left, Centre, Christian Democrats, Greens and Liberals. The speaker election on 28 September will be the first step before the parliament can vote for a new prime minister, making the talks a key barometer of coalition dynamics.
