Swedish teen Eddie-Bo Franzen joins Detroit's Little Caesar's 15U AAA squad

Eddie-Bo Franzen, a 15-year-old forward who tallied 14 goals and five assists in 15 outings for Linköping HC's top junior division, is set to play for Detroit's Little Caesar's 15U AAA team. His signing marks the first time a Swedish player has joined the program and makes him the sole Swede competing in the league this season. The move brings him to the city where his father, Johan "the Mule" Franzen, spent his entire 11-year NHL tenure with the Red Wings.

To help him settle, Eddie-Bo will reside with former Detroit netminder Chris Osgood. While his size and physical style echo his father's reputation, he will need to adapt to the smaller American rink dimensions. The team’s senior adviser, described by Johan as the funniest man he met in the NHL, will also guide the youngster. This development follows the Red Wings' recent placement of another player, Victor Plante, with Osgood during his time in the USNTDP.
