Swedish teen sentenced to ten years for abusing Australian girl in online extremist network

Swedish court documents reveal that Kevin Johansson, 18, received a ten-year prison term for a series of crimes linked to international extremist networks. Joining the groups at age 15, he communicated with a 15-year-old Australian girl under the handles “Chai” and “Norah Slimey,” coercing her into filming sexual content, strangling her family’s cat on camera, and writing his nickname in her blood. When she refused, Johansson falsely reported her father to Australian police, prompting a swatting raid by armed tactical officers.

The Umea District Court also convicted him of two attempted murders in Germany, six rapes of the Australian girl, encouraging a German teenager’s suicide, and orchestrating knife attacks that were livestreamed. Although not charged in Australia, the case underscores the Australian Federal Police’s Taskforce Pompilid focus on such networks, which recruit minors through platforms like Roblox, Discord and Telegram. Authorities have identified dozens of members and multiple victims, highlighting the growing threat of online-facilitated child exploitation and extremist violence.
