Swiggy's shares hit a fresh low of ₹209.65, a 6% intraday decline on the BSE, marking a 26% slide over the past month and placing the stock 46% beneath its IPO issue price of ₹390. The decline follows a reduction in foreign portfolio investors' stake by over five percentage points, while domestic institutional investors boosted their holding to roughly 29%. The company, which operates Swiggy Food in more than 720 cities and Instamart in 131 cities, is set to release its unaudited Q2 FY27 results today.
In the preceding quarter, Swiggy narrowed its net loss to ₹791 crore and grew revenue by 37% year-on-year to ₹6,812 crore. Despite the revenue boost, the firm posted an adjusted EBITDA loss of ₹2,871 crore for FY26 and continues to target profitability as it expands its quick-commerce business.
Why it matters
The steep share decline signals investor concern over Swiggy's path to profitability amid rapid expansion.
