Switch Mobility wins contract for 840 electric buses in Delhi under PM E-Drive scheme

Switch Mobility, a subsidiary of the Hinduja Group, confirmed it has been awarded a contract to deliver 840 electric buses to Delhi’s public-transport network. The order, placed through Antony Road Transport Solutions, includes 420 nine-metre and 420 twelve-metre air-conditioned buses that will be deployed by the Delhi Transport Corporation and the Transport Department under the first phase of the PM Electric Drive Revolution (PM E-Drive) initiative.

Ganesh Mani, the company’s CEO, said the deal demonstrates increasing trust in electric-mobility solutions for mass transit. Jimmy John, director of Antony Road Transport Solutions, noted the firm’s long-term relationship with Ashok Leyland and confidence in the Hinduja Group as key factors behind the purchase. The partnership aims to improve passenger flow while advancing Delhi’s broader sustainability goals. This contract marks a significant step toward electrifying the capital’s bus fleet.
