Sydney Olympic Park to get $780 million Four-Platform Metro Station by 2032
New concept images reveal a $780 million, four-platform metro station at Sydney Olympic Park, designed to handle up to 25,000 passengers per hour.
Concept visuals released this week depict a $780 million metro station at Sydney Olympic Park, featuring four platforms—the only such station in the city—and expansive interior spaces to accommodate surge traffic of 25,000 passengers per hour. The design includes wider escalators and a surrounding mixed-use precinct containing offices, retail, residential units and a public plaza. Transport Minister John Graham praised the project as a boost to what he called the nation’s most exciting sports and entertainment precinct.
The construction contract for both the station and its external precinct has been given to FCC Construction Australia and Ecove Group, with work expected to commence by mid-2027. The station forms part of the Metro West line linking the CBD to Westmead, with stops at several suburbs and a planned opening in 2032.
