SYRIZA-PS outlines new policy agenda on pensions, wages and public assets

The SYRIZA-PS political secretariat convened to chart its next wave of policy moves, stressing that the government's claim of a fixed fiscal ceiling has been disproved and urging rival parties to reassess their stances. Core proposals include a thirteenth pension, a thirteenth monthly wage, reductions in income and indirect taxes, and state intervention in refining profits, public electricity supply, public gas supply and a public banking pillar.

A major focus was the transformation of EFKA into a national investment vehicle with three pillars: social housing, private-debt restructuring and productive use of insured assets. The party announced a series of organized meetings with workers, retirees, professional bodies and local authorities, extending to regional tours beginning in Western Macedonia in October. Ongoing work from the Ministry of Finance will match stakeholder requests with parliamentary actions, while the party prepares for the Greek EU Council presidency in the second half of 2027.
