Taal Volcano experiences surge in quakes and tremors after brief eruption

Following a short phreatomagmatic eruption on Thursday, monitoring by Phivolcs showed a notable increase in seismic activity at Taal Volcano in Batangas. In the latest bulletin, officials logged 20 volcanic earthquakes and nine tremor events lasting between two and seven minutes. This contrasts with only nine earthquakes and a single tremor recorded over the preceding nine days, with several days showing no activity at all.
