Taihan Cable lands $89 million turnkey high-voltage cable contract in the United States

Taihan Cable & Solution Co. won a 120 billion-won turnkey deal to supply a high-voltage AC cable system for an unnamed U.S. power network operator.

Taihan Cable & Solution Co., South Korea's second-largest cable producer, announced it has secured a 120 billion-won (US$89 million) turnkey contract to provide a high-voltage alternating-current cable system for a U.S. power network operator that was not identified. Under the agreement, Taihan will be responsible for all phases, including design, fabrication, on-site installation and final testing. The firm said the contract reflects a rapid increase in U.S. demand for large-scale turnkey cable projects, a trend it attributes to the growth of the artificial-intelligence sector and heightened investment in data-center infrastructure.

A company official emphasized the intention to keep pursuing similar opportunities in the United States to satisfy diverse customer needs. At the close of June, Taihan Cable's order backlog stood at 4.06 trillion won, underscoring its strong pipeline of future work.

Why it matters

The deal highlights expanding U.S. infrastructure needs for AI and data centers and boosts a major South Korean exporter.
