Taiwan Opens First National Pavilion at Berlin's InnoTrans Transport Fair
Taiwan showcased its inaugural national pavilion at the InnoTrans transportation expo in Berlin, highlighting smart rail and resilience technologies.
At the InnoTrans trade show in Berlin, Taiwan presented its first ever national pavilion, organized by the Railway Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. Fourteen collaborators—from universities to private firms such as Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp—joined to demonstrate smart transit solutions and rail-system resilience, featuring technologies like 5G, AIoT and system integration. The pavilion aims to raise the profile of Taiwan's rail sector and attract overseas partners.
In addition, 26 other Taiwanese companies maintained separate booths at the fair. Transportation Minister Chen Shih-kai highlighted the island's long history in conventional trains, high-speed rail, MRT and light rail, and said Taiwan will apply AI, virtual simulations and IT expertise to improve train design, electromechanics, integration and safety verification.
Why it matters
The pavilion gives Taiwan a platform to market its advanced rail technologies and seek global collaborations.
