Taiwanese foreign minister leads business delegation to Belize and Guatemala

Taiwan's Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung departed on Sunday for a two-country visit to Belize and Guatemala, heading a delegation of over 30 representatives from industries like smart transportation, artificial intelligence, space technology, biotechnology, health care, tourism, finance and trade. The mission aims to deepen economic cooperation with Taiwan's two Central American diplomatic partners. Lin will hold talks with Belizean Prime Minister John Briceño and Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo, and will inspect several Taiwan-funded infrastructure projects in each nation.

In Guatemala, he is also slated to attend a reception commemorating the 92nd year of diplomatic ties and Taiwan's National Day. The U.S.-Taiwan Business Council is part of the delegation, highlighting the involvement of American business interests. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not disclose the delegation's return date, but the trip continues Lin's pattern of linking diplomatic outreach with commercial engagement under the Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project.
