Taiwanese Foreign Minister Lin Opens New Representative Office in Phoenix
Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung arrived in Phoenix to inaugurate Taiwan's new Taipei Economic and Cultural Office and meet local officials and business leaders.
Taiwan's Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung touched down in Phoenix, Arizona, to start a three-day delegation that will culminate in the opening of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the city. The ceremony marks Taiwan's 14th representative office in the United States and underscores expanding economic and trade ties. Lin will hold talks with Governor Katie Hobbs, Mayor Kate Gallego, and leaders of the Taiwanese business and expatriate community.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between Taiwan's National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association and the Arizona Commerce Authority, with American Institute in Taiwan managing director Ingrid Larson joining the delegation. The launch follows TSMC’s recent investment in Arizona, which has spurred additional Taiwanese supply-chain firms to expand their U.S. presence.
