Taiwanese tech firm commits $1 billion to New Clark City manufacturing hub

A Taiwanese technology firm has committed an upfront $1 billion to construct a manufacturing facility in New Clark City, Philippines, according to BCDA President Joshua Bingcang. The company will initially occupy 30 hectares within Filinvest Innovation Park and has signaled intent to reserve an additional 60 hectares for future expansion. This development is one of the first approved under the amended Investors’ Lease Act, which extends foreign lease terms to 99 years.

Although the investor remains unnamed, the firm plans to recruit mechanical and industrial engineers in October, send them to Taiwan for training, and have them return to oversee equipment installation slated for early next year. The project aligns with the BCDA’s strategy to transform New Clark City into a premier advanced-manufacturing zone focused on semiconductors, electronics and other high-tech sectors. It is separate from the larger Clark Advanced Manufacturing Park under the Pax Silica framework, which has also drawn interest from South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan for additional leasing.
