Tallgrass and Yellowstone Forever pledge record $105 million for park stewardship
Tallgrass and Yellowstone Forever have created a $105 million fund to support conservation, research and new visitor facilities at Yellowstone National Park.
Tallgrass, a Blackstone Infrastructure portfolio company, and Yellowstone Forever unveiled a $105 million conservation and stewardship fund for Yellowstone National Park, marking the biggest private gift ever to the agency. The fund will create a permanent financing stream for long-term park care, including a $35 million interactive visitor center at Norris Geyser Basin and initiatives to expand research, infrastructure and opportunities for Wyoming residents and students.
Interior Secretary Doug Burgum called the investment historic, highlighting the partnership between American business and conservation. Blackstone’s Sean Klimczak said the donation reflects a belief that infrastructure can serve the public good, while Yellowstone Forever’s Lisa Diekmann described it as transformational for the park’s future. The announcement comes amid $1.2 billion in deferred maintenance and a recent leadership change at the park’s superintendent’s office.
