Tallink suspends MyStar ferry service on Tallinn-Helsinki route after engine fault
Tallink cancelled the MyStar ferry’s scheduled Tallinn-Helsinki crossing on Monday because of a technical problem discovered in the engine room.
The MyStar vessel left Tallinn at 7:30 a.m. but was forced to turn back to the Port of Tallinn after engineers identified a fault in its engine compartment. Tallink’s communications manager Meelis Kompus said the exact cause and repair timeline are still unknown. Passengers have been notified, and freight clients will receive updates later in the day. Other ferries on the route, Megastar and Victoria I, continue to operate normally.
Why it matters
The cancellation disrupts passenger travel and freight shipments on a key Baltic Sea corridor.
