Tallinn Airport records highest monthly passenger traffic in its history
In August, Tallinn Airport handled nearly 390,000 travelers, the most ever for a single month, marking a 16% rise over the previous year.
In August, Athens International Airport reached a new milestone by serving 4.03 million passengers, surpassing the 4-million mark for the first time. This represents a 3.7% rise compared with August 2025, with domestic passenger numbers up 2.4% and international traffic up 4.3%. Over the first eight months of 2026, the airport handled a total of 23.71 million passengers, a 4.4% increase over the same period in 2025, driven by 4.3% growth in domestic and 4.4% in international travel.
Flight operations also expanded, with 198,571 flights recorded, a 3.9% jump from the previous year; domestic flights grew 4.8% and international flights 3.2%. The figures highlight sustained demand for both domestic and overseas travel through Greece’s capital.
