Tamil Nadu marks 100 days with new safety, welfare and investment initiatives
The Tamil Nadu administration under chief minister C Joseph Vijay released a 100-day report highlighting anti-corruption measures, a women’s safety task force, anti-drug actions and major investment and welfare programmes.
Chief minister C Joseph Vijay’s government celebrated its first 100 days by unveiling a video and a set of infographics that label the milestone "Governance for Generations." The released report claims a strict anti-corruption policy, the creation of the specialised "Singapenn" task force to improve women’s safety, and a statewide anti-drug drive aimed at protecting young people. Investment commitments totalling Rs 1.02 lakh crore were secured at the Vetri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave, alongside the rollout of the Vetri Housing Scheme for low-income families.
The administration also announced waiving agricultural loans for marginal farmers and closing 717 TASMAC liquor outlets. Welfare initiatives highlighted include the Thaaimaaman Thanga Mothiram scheme that gives newborns a one-gram gold ring, distribution of eight-gram gold coins and silk sarees to eligible brides, free electricity up to 200 units, and skill-training and breakfast programmes for students. Assembly speaker J C D Prabhakar praised these actions as a historic shift toward transparent, people-focused governance.
