Tamil Nadu unveils plans for Olympic City and Motor Sports City to boost sports and economy

Tamil Nadu disclosed a dual-city initiative intended to expand its sports infrastructure. The proposed Olympic City will house world-class competition venues, a high-performance training centre and accommodation for sportspersons and coaches, targeting the development of athletes for national and international contests. In parallel, a Motor Sports City will be built with a cutting-edge racing complex designed to host Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3 and Formula 4 races and to nurture emerging motorsport talent.

Authorities expect the facilities to draw leading racing and automobile firms to the state, while also generating tourism, employment and ancillary economic benefits. The projects are part of a broader strategy to position Tamil Nadu as a hub for elite sports and related industries.
