Tanjong Malim Hi-Tech Park slated for completion by Q3 2029 with RM1.4 billion GDV

The 178.8-hectare Tanjong Malim Hi-Tech Park, valued at RM1.4 billion, is expected to be finished by the third quarter of 2029.

The Tanjong Malim Hi-Tech Park, spanning 178.8 hectares with an estimated gross development value of RM1.4 billion, is targeted for full completion by the third quarter of 2029. The first phase, 41.6 hectares in size, is already about 50 percent acquired following its launch in June 2025, according to Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad. Developed by Setia Awan Land Sdn Bhd, the site has attracted interest from firms in the manufacturing and automotive sectors, as well as other companies seeking to expand in the area.

State officials said the park aligns with efforts to draw quality investment and strengthen Perak’s high-tech industrial base, promising economic spillovers for residents. Setia Awan’s director Datuk Marcus Doh projected the park could generate between 10,000 and 15,000 jobs across manufacturing, automotive, technology, logistics and support services once fully operational. The launch ceremony was held on Jalan Protokol in Tanjong Malim, attended by state legal and financial advisors.

Why it matters

The park aims to boost Perak's economy by attracting high-tech firms and creating thousands of jobs.
