Target is reshaping its grocery aisles to serve as a launchpad for innovative food and beverage products, according to John Conlin, the company's senior vice president of food and beverage merchandising. The retailer notes that its food and beverage segment now leads store traffic and has added billions of dollars in sales since 2019, with additional growth expected. In the first quarter of 2026, Target introduced a large number of new items, focusing on snacks, dairy and frozen foods, and is working toward a 30% organic produce offering.
Small and emerging brands—including Ripi frozen ravioli, Nightingale ice-cream sandwiches, PORTA frozen pizza, Loopini pizza, and several others—report that Target’s national footprint has accelerated their market reach. The company emphasizes a curated, trend-forward assortment designed to attract busy families and foster brand loyalty.
