Tasmanian toddler treated for TB attended Goodstart Kings Meadows childcare
A child who went to Goodstart Kings Meadows childcare in northern Tasmania has been treated for tuberculosis, and the centre remains open with a low risk of spread.
Public Health Tasmania confirmed that a youngster enrolled at Goodstart Kings Meadows in the Launceston area is receiving treatment for tuberculosis. The childcare provider began notifying families on Thursday and said it is following the health authority’s guidance and its own infection-control policy. Officials assess the chance of further transmission as minimal, and the centre continues to operate as usual.
