Tata Consumer Products shares climb 4% after solid Q2 earnings
Tata Consumer Products' stock rose about 4% on Tuesday following its September-quarter results, which showed profit and revenue growth.
Tata Consumer Products opened trading at ₹962.70 and peaked at ₹976.30, delivering a 4.2% intraday gain after posting its FY27 Q2 results. The firm posted a ₹470 crore profit, a 15.7% rise from the prior year, driven by a 14% revenue increase to ₹5,661 crore, supported by strong performance in its Sampann, NourishCo, and salt segments. EBITDA margin edged up to 13.8% versus 13.5% a year ago.
The company has implemented tea price hikes of 8-10% and a 13% increase in salt prices to manage inflation. Analysts from JM Financial and Elara Capital expect the full impact of these hikes to appear in the next quarter and see a modest margin improvement of about 40 basis points for FY27.
Why it matters
The earnings beat and price-rise signal Tata Consumer Products' resilience amid inflationary pressures.
