Tata Motors lifts cash offer for Iveco to €14.40 per share
Tata Motors has raised its all-cash bid for Italian truck maker Iveco to €14.40 per share, citing delays in regulatory approval.
Tata Motors announced a higher all-cash offer for Iveco Group NV, raising the price to €14.40 per share after a €0.30 increase. The move addresses a slight postponement in the approval timeline for the transaction, which was first disclosed in 2025 and excludes Iveco’s defence business. The original proposal of €14.10 per share valued the acquisition at roughly €3.8 billion, while the revised price would lift the total to about €3.91 billion if all 271.2 million shares are tendered.
The tender offer, launched in September, remains open until October 26, and an extraordinary general meeting on October 16 will decide the shareholders’ vote. Iveco’s board has unanimously recommended acceptance, and Tata Motors will fund the extra payout through an €85 million credit line from MUFG Bank Ltd’s GIFT Branch. The company stated the new price is a final increase.
Why it matters
The higher bid could push through a major cross-border merger, reshaping the European commercial-vehicle market.
