Tax auditors confront Nikos Karvelas and Anna Vissi over concert finances
Greek tax officials inspected the homes of Nikos Karvelas and Anna Vissi while reviewing the finances of Vissi's recent OAKA concert.
Tax inspectors from the Independent Authority for Public Revenue have been scrutinising the financial records of Anna Vissi's recent concert at OAKA, including production invoices, ticket revenues, expenses and payments to collaborators, as well as a purported loan to the composer. The audit extended to the home of composer Nikos Karvelas, where officials discovered he had failed to submit a tax declaration for the last fiscal year.
Karvelas responded with loud objections and insults, leading the auditors to withdraw without completing the on-site delivery of paperwork; the required documents were later sent electronically and a delayed tax filing was submitted. In addition to the OAKA event, authorities are also probing Vissi's concert at the Kallimarmaro venue. The investigations highlight ongoing tensions between high-profile entertainers and Greek tax authorities.
