Tech giants and AI startups join Busan's InnoAsia 2026 film-tech showcase

The Asian Contents & Film Market is set to stage InnoAsia 2026 at Busan’s Exhibition Center 2, BEXCO, aligning the festival with a program that merges film and cutting-edge technology. Participants span global tech leaders such as Amazon Web Services, Google DeepMind, Alibaba Cloud, BytePlus and a host of AI-focused startups including Kling AI, Lux AI and imCore. A flagship contest, Cinema by Brand 2026, will commission 20-minute narrative shorts built around Hanwha Group’s “Space Solar Power” concept, with the Producers Guild of Korea overseeing selection and production.
Winners will obtain financing and see their films shown to audiences in Korea and abroad. The event will also host a Startup Demo Jam, AI Creators Camp workshops, and panels discussing the $18 billion short-drama market and AI-related IP issues. Notable speakers include director Darren Aronofsky and AI specialists from Google DeepMind and Alibaba Cloud. InnoAsia runs from Oct. 10-13 alongside the 31st Busan International Film Festival.
