Teen arrested in Illinois over alleged Hindu temple shooting plot
Police in the Chicago suburb of Palatine detained 19-year-old Alexandros Paporakis after co‑workers reported alarming digital messages. A search of his home turned up an AR‑style rifle without a serial number, loaded magazines, ammunition, a tactical vest and a manifesto containing white‑supremacist rhetoric and racist slurs. He has been charged with making a terrorist threat and unlawful possession of a weapon, and a judge ordered him held without bail. Federal agents are assisting the local investigation. India’s Ministry of External Affairs condemned the alleged plot and called for a full investigation.
