Teen charged after knife attack leaves 17-year-old with near-complete hand amputation in Sydney

A 15-year-old was charged with wounding after a knife assault in Redfern left a 17-year-old with a severely damaged hand.

Police responded to a Redfern car park on Morehead Road around 6 p.m. and found a 17-year-old with a partially severed right hand. Paramedics treated the teenager before he was taken to hospital. Investigators later stopped a vehicle on Redfern Street and arrested the 15-year-old suspect, charging him with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and breach of bail. He was denied bail and will appear in a children’s court.
