Teen Co-worker Fatally Stabs 17-Year-Old McDonald’s Employee in Texas

A 17-year-old employee at a Harris County McDonald’s was killed by a 16-year-old coworker during a night shift, and the suspect was arrested on murder charges.

On a Wednesday night in Harris County, Texas, 17-year-old Reginald “RJ” Harrell was working a shift at a McDonald’s on Louetta Road when a 16-year-old coworker attacked him with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds in the restroom. Police responded at approximately 11:30 p.m., found Harrell bleeding and later pronounced him dead at the scene. The teenage suspect, whose name was withheld due to his age, was arrested, booked at the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center, and charged with murder.

Harrell, a senior at Cypress Creek High School who planned to become a welder, was not scheduled to work that night. His mother Denisha Dennis and sister Kourtnee Dennis mourned his loss, calling the killing unjust. The McDonald’s location was shut down the following morning for a cleanup, and owner Michael Gutierrez expressed sorrow and pledged to support employees as they process the tragedy.
