Teen dies from electric shock while assisting at Aszódi amusement park

Three weeks ago, a 17-year-old boy died after receiving a fatal electric shock at an amusement park in Aszódi. He had been helping the park staff on a voluntary basis, according to the operators, who also state that the park's electrical system had just undergone maintenance and was functioning properly. The victim's mother alleges that the boy was employed without pay and that the tragedy resulted from the park's negligence, a claim the operators deny.

Witnesses say the boy was near the main distribution equipment after spending time in a caravan with other young park workers, and for unknown reasons approached the area where the shock occurred. A 13-year-old friend tried to assist by striking the fuse board with rubber-soled shoes, but the boy could not be saved. The Pest County Police Headquarters has launched an investigation into possible negligent endangerment leading to death, with experts being consulted to determine responsibility.
