Teen driver crashes into airport fence, hits plane and tractor in New Hampshire
A 17-year-old fleeing police smashed a Mustang through Portsmouth International Airport’s perimeter, colliding with a parked aircraft and a tractor.
Around 8 p.m. on Saturday, New Hampshire State Police pursued a black 2008 Ford Mustang after a vehicle connected to crimes in neighboring jurisdictions was spotted on Durham Street in Portsmouth. The driver, 17-year-old Wyatt Seely of Rochester, fled, and the car, lacking headlights, crashed through the fence of Portsmouth International Airport and raced across the aircraft parking apron. The Mustang hit a Kubota tractor and a small, stationary plane before coming to a halt.
Troopers detained Seely, who was intoxicated, and transported him to a nearby hospital for assessment. Authorities reported no additional injuries. Seely has been charged with misdemeanor DWI, aggravated DWI, disobeying a police officer, conduct after an accident, and a reckless-driving violation, with a court date set for September 9, 2026. The response was coordinated by the Portsmouth Police and Fire Departments, Newington Police Department, and Pease Fire and Emergency Services.
