At approximately 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday, police were dispatched to a residence in New Springville, Staten Island, after a 911 call reporting an unconscious individual. Upon arrival, officers found a 19-year-old male lying unresponsive in the living room and pronounced him dead at the scene. The victim's body was cold, with visible protruding ribs, swelling and bruising around the wrists and ankles, and indications of malnutrition.
The teen's mother, who initiated the emergency call, provided a description of events that investigators said did not align with the observed injuries. Authorities are treating the death as a suspected homicide, but no suspects have been identified or arrested to date. The investigation continues under the jurisdiction of the NYPD.
