Teen from Uttar Pradesh alleges gang rape on moving sleeper bus near Delhi

A 16-year-old girl from Mainpuri says she was gang-raped by a bus driver and conductor while the sleeper bus traveled about 47 km toward Kashmere Gate.

A Class 11 student from Mainpuri district in Uttar Pradesh fled home following a family argument and, in heavy rain, disembarked at Pari Chowk by mistake. An empty sleeper bus halted after she signaled for help; the driver, Kuldeep, and conductor, Sandeep, told her it was bound for Noida Sector 63 and allowed her aboard. According to police, the conductor began making obscene remarks, and both men later forced themselves on the girl, threatening her life when she resisted.

The bus continued for roughly 47 km toward Kashmere Gate before the assailants left her on Ring Road near the terminal. She approached Kashmere Gate police, prompting the arrest of Kuldeep and Sandeep at a Timarpur bus depot and the confiscation of the bus for forensic testing. Investigators noted the vehicle had previously broken down and been repaired in Surajpur, and its curtain-lined berths may have concealed the crime. The case remains under investigation.
