Teen gang members receive jail terms for fatal stabbing outside London McDonald's
Seven individuals were convicted for the murder of 17-year-old Yerir Sanchez Morales, who was stabbed outside a McDonald’s on Old Kent Road, with several receiving prison sentences.
Yerir Sanchez Morales, 17, was attacked outside a McDonald’s on Old Kent Road in southeast London on August 27, sustaining nine fatal injuries to his neck and chest. Detectives used images of bloodied hands and knives posted online, along with CCTV and voice notes, to identify the perpetrators. On Friday, four men and three boys were found guilty of offences ranging from manslaughter to violent disorder.
Two 18-year-old men, Christhofer Jesus Vasquez and Andres Tapia Londono, received four-year prison sentences for manslaughter. An 18-year-old and a 21-year-old were given community orders for violent disorder, while a 16-year-old was sentenced to 16 months in jail; two other 16-year-olds received a 12-month youth rehabilitation order and a community order respectively. The Met praised teenage witnesses for cooperating with the investigation.
