Teen girl allegedly gang-raped by men posing as police in Delhi park
A 17-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted by three men claiming to be police officers in Astha Kunj park, southeast Delhi. One suspect has been arrested while two remain at large.
On Monday night, two 17-year-old girls went to Kalkaji Mandir for prayers and later rested in Astha Kunj park, close to both the temple and the ISKCON complex. Three men, described as being between 25 and 30 years old, approached them, identified themselves as police officers, and threatened the male companion while assaulting the female minor. The victim was taken to a hospital for a forensic examination and her testimony was formally recorded.
Police arrested one of the alleged perpetrators on Tuesday morning and have launched a manhunt for the other two, reviewing local CCTV footage and canvassing witnesses. The case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant BNS provisions. Authorities have deployed additional teams to expedite the investigation and ensure the suspects are apprehended.
