Teen girl stabbed multiple times after online feud fuels planned Melbourne park attack

Police report that at about 7.15 pm on Wednesday, two youth groups convened at Robert Bruce Reserve in Deer Park, Melbourne, where a confrontation escalated into a brutal assault. An 18-year-old girl was kicked, stomped on and stabbed up to six times, sustaining serious injuries but remains in stable condition; a second woman was also attacked but escaped stabbing. Detectives say more than ten teenagers participated, that the meeting was likely arranged in advance, and that an online feud may have sparked the violence.

Footage captured a large crowd moving toward a nearby street, with blood and multiple knives recovered at the scene. Detective Acting Sergeant Ali Samie highlighted the danger of youths carrying knives and the potential for homicide, while Premier Ben Carroll called the incident shocking and urged a zero-tolerance approach, citing “Jack’s law” to empower police.
