Teen mob raids Oakland 7-Eleven, steals goods and damages property
Around 20 teenagers forced their way into an Oakland 7-Eleven on International Boulevard, taking merchandise and breaking store fixtures.
A crowd of roughly twenty teens entered an Oakland 7-Eleven on International Boulevard on Saturday afternoon, seizing several products before running outside. Employees secured the premises and alerted authorities, but a subset of the group came back shortly after, forcibly removing the store’s metal door handle and throwing it through a glass door, where it hit manager Sagar Sagar in the face. Store staff described the assailants as aggressive and verbally abusive.
This episode is the sixth violent occurrence at the store in the current year, adding to owners’ growing concerns. Earlier, in September 2023, a man was discovered dead in the store’s parking lot, further heightening the manager’s sense of vulnerability. Oakland City Councilmember Charlene Wang, who chairs the Public Safety Committee, said securing International Boulevard remains a priority.
