Teen mother killed in Montgomery shooting after twice seeking protection from ex

In Montgomery, Alabama, 19-year-old mother Nalyn Reeves and 25-year-old mother Undrea Willis were found dead at a residence after an intruder shot them while their children watched. Authorities identified the shooter as Tarus Giles, the father of Reeves' 10-month-old child, who entered the home by breaking a living-room window despite the front door being locked. Reeves had twice sought protection-order relief from Giles, describing severe beatings, threats to kill her and her unborn child, and a prior incident where he returned with a knife; both petitions were dismissed—one after a hearing she missed, the other because the papers were never served.
Giles, who was on bond for a third-degree burglary, was taken into custody and faces two counts of capital murder in the presence of a child, a count of capital murder of multiple victims, and a burglary-related murder charge. He is slated to appear in court on Friday. The Montgomery Police Department released video of his arrest.
