Teen shot in leg near Queens playground as gunman flees in black attire

Around 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, a 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg near the corner of 153rd Street and Jamaica Avenue, close to Rufus King Park in Queens. The shooter, described as wearing an all-black outfit, fled on foot shortly after the discharge. Emergency responders rushed the injured teen to Jamaica Hospital, where he is listed as stable.

Neighbors, including Abdulahead Erragi, heard the gunfire from their homes and observed a crowd of teenagers exiting the park, noting signs of drug use and smoking. Amber Logan, who was on a park bench, heard the blasts and expressed concern about safety in the area. Police have not identified a motive or confirmed whether the teen was the intended target, and no arrests have been made as the investigation proceeds.
