Teen sibling killed and sister injured in Los Angeles hit-and-run
A driver and passenger fled after a vehicle struck two teenage siblings crossing 10th Avenue in Hyde Park, killing the boy and critically wounding the girl.
Los Angeles police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Tuesday night at approximately 9:35 p.m. in Hyde Park. A vehicle traveling east on 60th Street collided with two teenage siblings crossing 10th Avenue, then struck a parked car before the occupants fled without rendering aid. The boy succumbed to his injuries, and his sister was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
Witness Jerome Alexander said the victims' mother arrived moments later, screaming. LAPD officer Alondra Garcia confirmed the search for both the driver and the passenger, and video shows the vehicle’s airbags deploying after the crash.
