Teen suspect in Oslo school knife attack consents to two-week detention

On Tuesday afternoon police were called to Kuben videregående skole in the Økern district of Oslo after witnesses reported a knife incident. Emergency services treated a 16-year-old student who suffered critical stab wounds but is now stable. Officers identified a 17-year-old student as the alleged attacker and placed him under arrest on suspicion of attempted murder.

The teenager has agreed to a two-week pre-trial detention, during which authorities have also imposed a prohibition on correspondence and visits. He has not yet been interrogated or entered a plea. Defense counsel Marie Solberg was contacted but chose not to provide remarks on the case.
