Teenage driver in Audi crashes into pedestrian and three cars in Delhi
A 17-year-old boy driving an Audi on his birthday struck a 45-year-old man and collided with three other vehicles in Delhi, killing the pedestrian.
In the early hours of October 4, a 17-year-old celebrated his birthday by driving an Audi in Delhi’s Kishangarh neighbourhood. According to police, the boy drove negligently, striking a 45-year-old pedestrian, identified as Uma Shankar, and crashing into three other cars near a CNG pump at a red-light intersection. The injured man was rushed to JPN Apex Trauma Centre but was declared dead on arrival.
The teenager was detained, produced via video link before the Juvenile Justice Board, and booked under the Motor Vehicles Act for rash driving and causing death. Authorities are investigating whether the Audi was rented or borrowed, as it does not belong to the boy’s family. The other drivers escaped injury, and the involved vehicles have been seized by police.
